The Hell City Glamours Review
Steve-0, 24-Jan-09 »

When it comes to the type of music that both make you want to both nod your head in both hard and repetitive motions AND make you want to dance, It's extremely hard to find now days.
In the 80's there were genres such as "Hair Metal" "Sleaze Metal" and other genres along those lines, and there's one band that still keeps the whole genre of pure rock 'n' roll extremely fit...
AND THEY'RE FROM AUSTRALIA!!

As the lights dim, on to the stage step Robbie (Drums), Jono (Bass), Mo (Guitar) and Oscar (Guitar + Vocals) from the Hell City Glamours.
With influences such as the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Hanoi Rocks, Iron Maiden, Rose Tattoo, Judas Priest and Rancid; the Hell City Glamours have brought stereotypical rock 'n' roll music to the table with a twist.
I'll be honest; I'm surprised these guys don't sell out each time they play. They're just so god damn good!
Over the years they've released two EP's (Broken Glass, Beatless Hearts & Hey Man) and just recently their own self titled full length album with the single "Josephine" played on Triple J.
With tracks such as One Night Only, Hey Man, My Hearts a Breakin' and iconic track White Trash Hot Love, they never cease to amaze.
One of the lines of the song One Night Only quotes "I'm lost, I'm drunk and lonely, In town for one night only" which describes the true rock and roll scene as it should be.
They play live shows like they're on the main stage of big day out, using every ounce of strength they have to nail every shredding solo, drum beat and chorus to perfection every time they step out on stage.
Here's a video of the guitarist Mo mid solo at a recent gig at Manly.
The Hell City Glamours are on their way to the USA soon, but they will be playing on the 6th of February at the Oxford Art Factory, Oxford St, Sydney.
I advise you to check these guys out if you're in town, buy their album and EP's and have a listen before they disappear to the states!!
