Flash game of the week #1 - Robot Unicorn Attack
sgtsmithy, 17-Mar-10 » Triumph and myself are now going to review a 'flash game of the week' and possibly give out a prize to a non staff member who beats our scores (in the future if there is interest)
Frontpage: Flash Game of the week #1 - Robot Unicorn Attack

This week see's Robot Unicorn Attack takes out the number 1 spot in our books.
This flash game sees you (a robot unicorn) take on the world in three wishes.
As a side scroller your objective is to score as high as possible, the further you get the more you'll score.
The pace starts slow but gradually picks up to the point where only some razor sharp gaming reflexes will keep you from, as the game puts it, the fiery death that awaits you. On the way you can capture mini unicorns for bonus points and smash through fallen stars with a rainbow powered charge attack (or crash into them and fail as if you're Chesty). You've got 3 lives to chain together as many points as possible to prove your worth to the internet, and secure your spot in the world as a man.

This Unicorn powered action is set to the hit song "Always" by Erasure. Together they make for a very hypnotic and addictive game.
Robot Unicorn Attack's main drawback is the fact that you are forced to watch an ad everytime you load it up, but what can you expect these days?
It's also a hassle for people that can't take the pain may find themselves succumbing to Erasure's melodies and slashing their wrists. Don't think we're joking when we say this game is meant to test your reflexes and masculinity, this is the sort of game that will separate the wheat from the chaff.
The game will taunt you, it reminds you how will fail miserably. Those that can take it will come back again and again because as far as addictiveness in flash games go, this one has it in spades.
Scores to beat:
Triumph: 69,406
Smithy: 52,287
If you manage to beat these scores, post up a screenshot of it in this thread here: http://www.netgameradio.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5102 if we generate enough interest, you may be eligable for a prize!
Verdict:
Smithy:
Originality - 6/10 - The music really topps it off.
Addictiveness - 8/10 - I just want to keep coming back, is it the music?
Ease of use - 10/10 - You can get any easier then 2 bottons really.
Average - 8/10
Triumph:
Originality - 7/10 - Who'd have thought Erasure and Robot Unicorns go so well together?
Addictiveness - 8/10 - It's hypnotic at times.
Ease of use - 5/10 - Can't score well with me here when you've only got 2 buttons.
Average - 6.66/10
This game is best suited to those who are willing to man up and listen to some gay music, test out their ninja reflexes and watch their e-penis grow.
In conclusion. go hard or go home.
This game is for real men only.
